How it's played
It's a familiar concept: get the ball into the hole. The ball travels along a set of pipes—each a square card on a board—until it hits a dead-end. You click a card and it rotates clockwise; the adjacent cards spin counter-clockwise. You have a max number of taps available per board. That's really it.
Play ROTO ↗How it's made
It's a simple responsive webapp built on React. Each board is procedurally generated on a daily seed with escalating difficulty, so everyone plays the same run each day. The game has a small TypeScript engine that runs the game and generates the boards. A solver plays every board to set the maximum tap limit for every board, with deeper runs requiring perfect play.
